The Department of Chemistry at Dr. Ghali College, established in 1996, is one of the largest science departments at the college. With a total of 11 staff members, the department offers a Master's degree course in Analytical Chemistry, which started in October 2021 with 22 students. The faculty members are actively engaged in cutting-edge research across various areas of chemistry, with three faculty having completed UGC-Minor Research Projects.Our staff continuously strive to enhance both the practical and theoretical knowledge of students, enabling them to apply their skills in research and industry settings. Many faculty members frequently publish research papers in esteemed national and international journals. As of today, the department boasts over 1,000 alumni. Students actively participate in prestigious programs and competitions, such as the Summer Research Fellowship Program at IISc Bangalore, the WEnyan Scholarship of Pune Knowledge Cluster, national seminars, conferences, and Avishkar Research Competitions.Over its 28-year history, the department has seen significant growth. It offers certificate courses in areas such as Interpretation of NMR Spectra and Preparation of Household Chemicals for B.Sc. Chemistry and M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry) students. The Department of Chemistry is dedicated to both teaching and research, with faculty members consistently motivating students to excel on national and international stages in various fields of chemistry.
Objectives of the Department:
1. To impart a sound theoretical knowledge in Chemistry and a good practical exposure to
improve scientific skill to meet the global requirements.
2. To develop a good background in Chemistry to pursue higher education.
3. To develop individual’s skill in both theory and practicals with enriched knowledge
in Chemistry to serve the society.
4. To facilitate students to meet the expanding job opportunities.
5. To motivate students in setting their startup ideas through chemistry knowledge.
